Veterans of the original Mortal Kombat games, such as Sub-Zero and Scorpion, Kabal, Baraka, Mileena, Ermac, and Nightwolf, are joined by relative newbies as Bo’Rai Cho, who made their debut in Deadly Alliance. Twelve different Mortal Kombat fighters are available for selection when the game begins, and these can range from fan-favorite veterans to enigmatic newbies. In addition, there are new modes called Konquest Adventure, Chess Kombat, and Puzzle Kombat, each offering a unique set of minigames for players to enjoy.
The traditional Arcade, Versus, and Practice game types have all been brought back, and the Krypt has been updated with all-new loot.
In the sixth installment of the fighting series, based on the engine from Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, players are challenged once more to engage in combat to eliminate this new danger.
